Hello again! The Fotobus traveled with 32 students and an incredible amount of 90 folding bikes to Arles. Another 70 members made their own way there and joined us at the campsite, where we cooked and had dinner together every day.
The trip to Arles is a highlight of the year for many of our members and a wonderful opportunity to connect with others and gather inspiration. During the opening week of the photography festival Les Rencontres d’Arles, exhibitions are visited, friendships are formed with students from all over Europe, industry professionals such as photo editors and photographers are met, and of course, photographs are shown—whether at the slideshow, at the Fotobus, or pasted up in the narrow alleys of the southern French town.This year, the Fotobus was allowed to park on the grounds of L’Archipel Arles; we extend our heartfelt thanks to our wonderful hosts! There, we presented the Fotobus Society, a dummy show featuring student photo books, the Fotobus Library Award, and hosted our evening slideshow showcasing student work. As part of our artist talks, we welcomed fantastic guests and were able to offer portfolio reviews.
