What happens in the meantime – between yesterday and tomorrow, between where we come from and where we’re going, between protest and dialogue, between doubt and new beginnings?
Following our previous project Identity, Courage, Love in 2023, the Fotobus Society once again brings photography into public spaces across Hannover. From May 30 to June 21, 2025, 34 members of the worldwide student photography network will present their journalistic and documentary work at four outdoor locations throughout the city.
What happens in the meantime. turns its focus to the spaces in between. What happens while we wait, doubt, hope, or rethink? What happens in the transitional moments of social, political, and personal change?
Rather than following a linear narrative, the exhibition brings together a wide range of perspectives exploring themes such as identity, family, gender, war, memory, and transformation. These works invite viewers to experience complexity without offering simple answers – opening up space for reflection, new perspectives, and dialogue.
