Awareness / Safer Space at the Fotobus Society

It is the responsibility of all of us to treat each other with respect and appreciation. We do not tolerate any form of racism, sexism, anti-Semitism, ableism, or other forms of discrimination, harassment, sexualized violence, or abusive behavior in our association.

At the Fotobus Society, we want to ensure that your rights are protected as well as possible in all our activities. To this end, we have jointly agreed on various guidelines that we follow. Our Code of Conduct and our statutes are two of these guidelines. They lay the foundation for the association to be as safe a space as possible for everyone.

If your personal boundaries have been crossed within the context of the Fotobus Society, or if you feel uncomfortable about something, you can seek help from us. This can include all kinds of concerns and boundary violations, such as harassment or bullying, physical, emotional, or psychological abuse or violence, or fears. Even if you notice that others in the association are not doing well and you want to do something to help, you can contact us. Go ahead: it’s worth a try. Often, a single, trusting conversation can open new paths and doors.

You can reach us in the following ways

1) Contact the awareness team

If you feel unsafe or need support, please feel free to contact the awareness team on site. You can find the contact information in the Telegram group for the respective Fotobus trip or event. Our teams are here to help you: they will listen to you and work with you to determine what kind of support you need. Nothing will happen that you don’t want to happen. The teams are not professional counselors, but they will be happy to provide you with further contact options.

2) Contact Chiho, Christoph, or Felix

Chiho and Christoph Bangert lead the Fotobus project and are available to address any concerns you may have. You can reach them here: infofotobus-society.com

Felix Kleymann is the vice president of our association and another possible contact person. You can reach him here: felixfotobus-society.com

A confidential conversation, if necessary with a professional counselor, is possible at any time.

3) Share something anonymously with us via the Fotobus suggestion box

Do you have feedback, requests, or concerns that you would prefer to share with us anonymously? Use our anonymous suggestion box. Our members Gerrit Duwald and Paula Tauber from our awareness team will read your anonymous message. It will not be forwarded to the association’s board, i.e., Chiho Bangert, Christoph Bangert, and Felix Kleymann, unless you request it.

4) Write to Paula and Gerrit

You are always welcome to write to our members Gerrit Duwald and Paula Tauber from our awareness team and share your concerns. Paula and Gerrit will listen to all your concerns and, if you wish, can give you recommendations for further steps. You can reach them here: awareness.fotobustutamail.com

5) External ombudsperson

We are currently looking for an independent ombudsperson who has no personal connection to the Fotobus Society. As soon as we have found someone, we will publish their contact information here.

Other points of contact

We want to ensure that you don’t have to deal with your concerns alone. We have therefore selected other points of contact for various issues. This list is by no means exhaustive. If you know of any other points of contact or information portals on topics not covered here, please feel free to write to us.
